Obituary of Cecil Rose
Rose, Cecil- 75, Lower Sackville passed away Sunday August 26, 2018 in the QEII VG Site, Halifax. Born September 24, 1942 in Bay du Nord Fortune Bay Newfoundland. He was a son of the late Cecil & Hilda (Welsh) Rose. Cecil fished for 10 years in his earlier years, then was employed as a guard at the Halifax Correctional Center retiring after 42 years service. Cecil enjoyed playing the accordion, reading, cooking, baking bread and hunting. Survived by his wife of 52 years Linda, children Michelle, Blair (Cindy) both of Lower Sackville, grandchildren; Natasha (Louis), Justin (Tianah), Brady (Angelica), BJ, Jessica (Kevin), Breanah (Ivan), Amber (Kyle), 8 great grandchildren, brothers Wallace (Mabel), Minto N.B., Clarence (Marie), Dartmouth, Gerald, Hammonds Plains, sister Lorraine Frauzel, Dartmouth. Predeceased by brothers Charles (Ethel), Calvin (Norma), sister Amy Henbrey. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday August 29, 2018 at 2:00p.m. in St. Francis by the Lakes, Anglican Church First Lake Drive, Lower Sackville Rev. Mark Kingsbury officiating. Burial at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in Cecils memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
