Obituary of Stanley Benjamin MacDonald

Age 86, Sheet Harbour, died peacefully with his loving wife by his side Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour. Born in Sheet Harbour November 16, 1935, he was a son of the late Stanley and Dorothy (Cooper) MacDonald. After leaving school Muzzy enlisted in the Air Force, and worked as an air frame mechanic until retiring in 1985. After retiring, he and Bet moved home to Sheet Harbour. Muzzy enjoyed fishing, hockey, baseball and was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf and Toronto Blue Jays fan. In his younger years he played baseball for the Sheet Harbour Rockets. He loved to tell a story and have family and friends around. Muzzy loved his children and grandchildren very much. Survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Elizabeth “Bet”; son, Steven, LaRonge, Sask.; daughter, Sheryl Graham (Greg), Trenton, Ont.; grandchildren, Nicole, Amanda and Alex; great-grandson, Jaxon; brothers, Darrell and Patrick; sister, Dorothy Layden. Predeceased by infant son, Joseph; brothers, Bernard “Bun”, John Boo, David, Ronald; sisters, Virginia Kelly, Frances Duffy and Rozanne Boudreau. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 16 at 11 a.m. in St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, Sheet Harbour, burial to follow in the church cemetery. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Twin Oaks and Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Room at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
