Obituary of Eldon Gerald Hilchey

Age 83, Dartmouth, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Popes Harbour December 19, 1935, he was a son of the late James and Evelyn (Connors) Hilchey. Eldon was truck driver and a taxi driver for most of his working life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and going to the casino. Eldon was an avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching the Toronto Blue Jays, curling and golf. Survived by children, Janice (Terry) O'Shaughnessy, Elaine (Mike) Carberry, Pamela (Terry) Warren, Carl (Brenda), Robin (Terré Tegan), Darren, Jerry, Cathy (Lloyd) Hannah; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Wallace; sisters, Ina Monk, Marilyn (Mark) Jennings. Predeceased by first wife, Dorothy; second wife of 50 years, Winifred; brother, Harold in infancy. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 5th at 2 p.m. in St. Andrew's Anglican Cemetery, Spry Harbour, Rev. Lorraine Otto officiating.
