Obituary of Nita Evelyn Gertrude Munroe
Age 95, Sheet Harbour, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, March 8, 2019 in Highcrest Nursing Home, Sherbrooke. Born August 9, 1923 in Drumhead, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Gillie) Burke. Nita was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of Moser River Independent Baptist Church. Mom loved her Sunday night hymn sings, church services and Sunday school. Survived by son, Kenneth, Necum Teuch; daughters, Elva Langley (Wayne Brightman), Isaac's Harbour; Mary (Robert) Naugler, Sheet Harbour; Maxine (Thomas) Bond, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Christina (Tim) Downey, Angela Riley (Chris Boutilier), Robert (Gill) Naugler, Nancy (Robert) Fleet, Matthew Naugler, Rachel Naugler (Josh Boutilier), Philip and Jennifer Bond; great-grandchildren, Cory, Courtney, Justin, Jessie, Starr, Skye, Dylan, Jordan, Shay-Lynn, Spencer, Christian, Madison, Lucas, Ashlynn, Jemma, Justin and Lucas. Predeceased by husband, Carl; brothers, Kenneth, Roland, Lester and Bertrand; sisters, Vida and Florence; grandson, James Langley; and great-grandson, William Naugler; daughter-in-law, Angela (Geddes) Munroe. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 12th from 2-4 p.m., and a Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., all in Moser River Independent Baptist Church, Moser River, Pastor Steve Snell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moser River Independent Baptist Church in memory of Nita. The family would like thank all the homecare workers while she was at home, also the staff at Highcrest Nursing Home for their exceptional care. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
