Obituary of Jennie Evelyn Elizabeth Sharpe
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Jennie Evelyn Elizabeth Sharpe, age 97, of Moser River. Our mom passed away peacefully with her close, loving family by her side on January 13, 2019, in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital in Sheet Harbour. Born in Moser River on July 8, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Croft and Eunice (Woodin/Carver) Croft and the last surviving member of her family. Mom leaves behind to carry on the examples she set in her life of the importance of family, of love and kindness to others, to her daughter, Earline (Stephen); son, Reg (Tina); and the grandchildren she loved so dearly, Jo-Anna (Jacob), Jeremy, and Courtney. Mom devoted her whole life to taking care of her family. She was so proud of us and always made sure that we all knew how much she loved and appreciated everything we did for her. No one who ever came to visit our Mom left without a cup of tea and something to eat. Her biggest regret later in life was that due to advancing years and health, she wasn't able to do this for family and friends; however you were always welcome to help yourself to whatever she had. Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by her husband, Earl; her siblings, Olive (Stanley) Gammon, Hattie (David) Sharpe, Marion (Calvin) Naugler, and Walter (Annie) Carver. Mom would be very disappointed if we didn't thank the people who took such good care of her both at home and the short time she was in hospital. A special thank you goes to the Home Care Staff of Northwood, the Nursing Staff, kitchen, and housekeeping staff at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. A very special thank you goes to Dr. Donald MacDonald for the care and compassion he showed to our Mom over the years. There will be no visitation or funeral at the request of the family. A graveside committal will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Moser River on Wednesday, January 16th at 2 p.m.
