Ryan, I have been truly blessed to have known you. I will always remember your witty responses, your love of dancing, and how you were always ready for a night out. I was never lonely because you were my friend. I'm going to miss you. I'm so happy you're home.

Ryan was more than just a friend—he was one of the greatest gifts life ever gave me. For nearly ten years, he walked beside me, offering laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support.
What made Ryan truly special was his ability to form deep, genuine connections. Despite being a foreigner, he fully embraced the Korean concept of Jeong(정)—a profound emotional bond. Ryan often joked that he disliked people, yet he couldn’t help but care deeply for those around him, even those who frustrated him. I experienced this firsthand in our friendship. Even when I was at my worst—snapping or pushing him away—he always responded with patience and understanding.
Our friendship was the embodiment of Jeong. It wasn’t always perfect, but it was steadfast, built on shared struggles, mutual care, and countless moments of joy. Over his 17 years in Korea, this sense of Jeong became a defining part of who Ryan was. It’s a part of him I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Q: What will you never forget about David?
A: I will never forget your smile, the sound of your laugh and the twinkle in your eye. We have shared so many memories and adventures together since we met in primary school. You have always been a constant presence in my life and regardless of how much time passed it between visits or messages since you moved to Korea, it was always as if no time had passed at all. You will be so missed and never forgotten . My condolences to all of your family and friends.

He will be loved and missed by us all.

Ryan Darlin it is still a struggle to think that you are now with your Father , sisters and grandparents who I’m sure were waiting with open arms when you arrived.
I will cherish all the pictures you have shared as I so enjoyed your journey of life. Give Arrow a hug for me he would be so happy to have his Dad with him once again.
Sending so much love and strength to you Jane, Paul and other family and friends for the days ahead. He truly was a blessing and certainly will be missed .
