Walsh, Gloria Violet, 85, Port Dufferin, NS
It is with deep sadness that the family of Gloria Walsh announce her sudden passing on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at home. Born in Sober Island May 20, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Thelma (Harnish) Levy.
Gloria had a passion for crafting, in particular knitting and crochet. She also enjoyed photography and was often seen wandering local beaches with her camera. Additionally she was well known in the community for her various business ventures like the flower shop and most notably the Black Duck Inn.
Survived by her three sons; Tim (Sandra), Lower Sackville, Peter, Four Mile Brook, Mark (Robyn), Moosehead; grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica and Blake; sisters, Evelyn Marshall (Carl deceased), Jean (Bill) Demmery, Diane (Joe) Strickland, Victoria (Victor) Henrikson; brothers, Eugene (Iris deceased), Ross (Linda), Edison (Millie), Randy (Susan); sisters in laws, Faye, Dixie and Sheila. Predeceased by brothers, Vernon (Shirley deceased), Victor, Harry (Rosalind deceased), David and Richard and infant sister Geneva.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held on Saturday September 14, 2024 at 11:00am at St James Anglican Church, Port Dufferin, NS. A reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion in Sheet Harbour. Internment will take place at a later time.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
