Obituary of Harold William Logan

Logan, Harold William- 68 Sober Island, passed away peacefully Tuesday July 23, 2024 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. Born in Sheet Harbour March 11, 1956 he was a son of Eileen (Harnish) Logan and the late Elmo Logan. Harold attended the Interprovincial School for the Deaf in Amherst for 14 years. He then went to vocational school for 2 years, where he took the autobody course. He represented Nova Scotia for the Canada Games and then went on to represent Canada at Worlds in Romania in 1977 in wrestling. He was employed at Lake City Woodworkers in Dartmouth for 30 years, where he gained the respect and admiration of all his co workers. Harold was a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs Fan, he also enjoyed bowling, curling and had a great love for God. Survived by siblings; Mildred (Vern), twins; Weldon (Cathy), Wendell (Lori), Lisa (Roger), Belinda, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brother Pat. Visitation will be held Saturday July 27 from 11am until 1:30pm in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour, with funeral service to follow at 2pm in St. Margarets Anglican Church, Sober Island Rev. Dr. Michael Foley officiating, burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Deaf Association 7071 Bayers Road Suite 329 Halifax N.S. B3L 2C2. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
