Dear Bobby’s friends and family,
We are very sorry to hear of Bobby’s passing. We had a friend in Bobby’s home for years and it was always such a pleasure to be greeted and welcomed by Bobby. He had such a kind and gentle soul, and always had a smile or hand shake or hug for us. He will be missed.

Bobby was the unofficial “New Chester Road Greeter”. With that big, beautiful smile and the welcoming wave he always made me feel like I was home. Thank you Bobby for being you and for sharing your special gifts with friends and friends to be. God Bless.

In this moment of profound sorrow, one cannot help but recall the warm and tender presence Robert was. His affectionate nature, matched with his amicable personality, made it a privilege to be part of his life journey through my affiliation with Northwood Homecare. For Bobby and Junior who were dear to him, let fond memories carry them in this testing time. May serenity embrace them as they grieve for a soul well-loved.

So many different thoughts and memories of Bobby come to mind at this time. One of my favourites was in his favourite meal - Fish and Chips at Sailors Galley, Stellarton. Pictured is Bobby from a few years ago and the second photo is of today when we enjoyed your favourite meal in your memory. Miss you Bobby. You had a way of living a beautiful and positive life that so many of us should take to heart and be inspired by it. Rest well Gentle Soul.

I was so saddened and shocked by the news of Bobby's sudden passing. He had just been on my bus that morning and as he does every afternoon gave me a big wave when I dropped off some of his housemates and neighbours at the Riverview Homes. I wished him a Happy Birthday for his upcoming birthday the next day. I am a driver for CHAD Transit and Bobby was on my bus 3 times a week going to Summer Street. He was always so much fun to have on the bus. As we'd drive along he always loved seeing the trains at the Stellarton yard as well as any trucks or construction equipment we saw along the way. He'd always point out any Fire trucks or EHS vehicles. I already miss Bobby's presence on the bus and his riding mates all miss him being with us. My thoughts and prayers are with Bobby's family and the friends he's made throughout his life.
Recently a couple clients who use our service have passed away due to health complications. After the news of Bobby's passing I was moved to write the following words:
A Bus Driver's Lament
Each day we drive the bus
We pick up people without the fuss
Some of them ride with us every day
We do our best getting them on their way
The more we drive them, the more we learn
We'll get to know each other on every turn
We make our way sharing the good and bad
Sometimes we laugh sometimes we're sad
Then one day they don't get on
We can't help but wonder
where they've gone
Later we hear that they have died
More than once I've pulled over and cried.
Be assured my passenger and my friend
Our thoughts and talk of you doesn't end
Because on the ride each passing day
We all talk of you and have wonderful things to say
When you rode with us you had so much to give
Though you are no longer with us,
In our hearts you will always LIVE.
