Obituary of William Charles Dominey

Dominey, William Charles “Bill” - 80, of Upper Lakeville passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 in Dartmouth General Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born in Coldbrook on October 17,1943 he was a son of the late Willis & Mildred Dominey (Pinch,Killen). Prior to his retirement, Bill owned and operated his own Baxter Dairy home delivery business. He held various jobs over the years, some of which included working as a professional baker at several bakeries and as a Farmers Dairy delivery man in the South End of Halifax. He enjoyed working in his vegetable & flower gardens, playing dice & cards with family & friends, going on Sunday drives with his family and spending time with his grandsons taking them for walks & sledding in the winter. He enjoyed feeding the pheasants, affectionately calling them “Chick-chick”, and reading the Farmer’s Almanac & his daily newspaper. He also had a passion for old farm tractors and enjoyed the various farm animal pets he had over the years. Bill was never at a loss for words, had a great sense of humour and always had a witty comeback. Survived by his loving wife Donna, of 60 years. Children; Tania (Chris) Stevens, Vincent (Matt Doucette) and Tracey Hilchie. Grandsons; Matthew (Savannah), Zachary and Nicholas. Great grandson Kane. Sisters; Bertha, Pat and Gloria. He was predeceased by daughter Sherry and son-in-law Michael Hilchie. Cremation has taken place, no visitation or funeral by request. Burial will be at a later date.
