Chambers, Alice Mae- 82, Marie Joseph died Wednesday April 3, 2024 in Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born in Liscomb June 6, 1941 she was a daughter of the late William & Edna (Pye) Walsh. Alice enjoyed knitting, embroidery, going to dances in her earlier years, she also enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, colouring in her colouring books, talking on the phone for hours, going to bingo and rocking in her rocking chair watching the cars go by. Alice is survived by children; Helen (Paul) Lavers, Deer Lake NL, Bill (Kelly), Marie Joseph, Wade (Trish), Sambro, Austin (Tanya), Ecum Secum, Sandra, Dartmouth, sisters; Sylvia (Danny) Hape, Francis, both of Ecum Secum, brother Charlie, Marie Joseph, Gerry, Ecum Secum, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband Ernest, son Gordon, step-son Russell, step-father Gerry Turner, brothers Wilfred, Jimmy & Cyril. Visitation will be held Friday April 5 from 2-4pm with funeral service Saturday April 6 at 2pm all in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7 Sheet Harbour. Burial to follow in St. Matthews Cemetery, Marie Joseph. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Matthews Cemetery Fund, Marie Joseph C/O Bruce Crowell PO Box 223 Sheet Harbour N.S. B0J 3B0. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
