Holman, Barbara Maude- 93, Mushaboom, formerly Watt Section, died Tuesday March 26, 2024 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. Born in Kemptville N.S. May 3, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Murray & Viola (Hamiliton) Churchill. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Barb worked at Stedmans in Sheet Harbour in her earlier years and volunteered at the day clinic at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. She loved to bake, play cards, bowl, go for walks and reading her bible. In earlier years she taught swimming lessons. Barb enjoyed talking to her friends and was very witty. She enjoyed camping, her many grandchildren and loved travelling to Alberta. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by children; Susan Levy, David (Debbie), Sharon (Ira) Josey, Timothy (Donna), Stephen (Dawn), Christopher (Linda), 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by husband Giles, son Thomas in infancy, sister Marion (Robert) Irwin, brother Edwin (Margaret), son in law Lindsay. Visitation will be held Tuesday April 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. Funeral service will be held Wednesday April 3 at 2pm in Livingwater Baptist Church, 34 Barkhouse Road, Sheet Harbour Pastor Jeremy Head officiating, burial to follow in St. James United Cemetery, Sheet Harbour.Reception to follow at the Sheet Harbour Legion. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the IWK Foundation. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital for their compassion and kindness shown to the family, they would also like to thank the homecare workers that were so kind to mom. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
