Obituary of Dianne Brown
Please share a memory of Dianne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In the passage of time, Heather Dianne (Thompson) Brown, aged 77, originally from Mapleton, formerly of Sheet Harbour, gracefully departed from this world on January 2nd, 2024, leaving behind a tapestry woven with love, loyalty, resilience, and cherished moments. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Carl, and her guiding stars, her parents, Garnet and Darlene (Siddall) Thompson.
Dianne’s life, marked by unwavering strength and kindness, was a testament to the beauty of authenticity. Mom embraced life's challenges with grace, leaving an indelible mark on all fortunate enough to cross her path. For 25 years it was Mrs. Brown’s face that greeted children and parents entering Sheet Harbour Consolidated Elementary. During her last five years in the Fall River area, she was affectionately known as G-ma to all her grandchildren and their friends.
Survived by her devoted brothers, Randy (Jennifer), Rocky Harbour, NL and Bob (Mary Dee) Cold Lake, AB. Her legacy lives on through her beloved children, Carla Lane, Mark, Tanya (Bernard) Smiley and her cherished seven grandchildren, Emma and Keegan Lane, Maddison, Mikayla, Meagan, Heidi and Hayden Brown. Her love for them was boundless.
In honoring her memory, may we cherish the lessons she imparted, the love she shared, and the strength she exhibited in every trial faced. May her spirit of resilience and kindness guide us in our journeys and may her legacy of love endure through generations.
Rather than mourning her absence, let us celebrate the vibrant mosaic of memories she gifted us. Join us for visitation at D. S. Crowell and Son Funeral Home in Sheet Harbour on January 6th from 1 - 3 PM. A family graveside service in South Brook will follow in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Hospice Halifax https://hospicehalifax.ca/ways-to-give/donate/, a cause reflective of her compassionate spirit.
Dianne’s departure marks the end of an era, but her spirit resonates in the hearts of those she touched. May her soul find eternal peace and may her life's tapestry continue to inspire and comfort us in the days ahead.
