Obituary of Stephen Jeffery Leslie
Please share a memory of Stephen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Stephen J. Leslie announce his passing. Surrounded by his loved ones, Stephen lost his battle with pancreatic cancer peacefully, at home November 22, 2023. Born in Halifax May 1, 1959 he was a son of the late George & Geraldine (Newcombe) Leslie. Stephen was employed as a cook at the Nova Scotia Hospital for 28 years, followed by 6 years at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, before working at his dream job driving the big trucks for Atlantic Gold Corporation. Stephen was an avid Montreal Canadians fan, he loved baseball, crib, camping, good times around the campfire with family and friends, going to Carl Faulkners camp, listening to the band Second Helping and having coffee with his best friend Pat. Stephen is survived by his loving wife Patti, daughters; Joanne (Mark), Tonya (Vanessa), siblings; Terry (Petrea) Leslie, Cathy (Paul) McAvoy, Bob Leslie, Scott (Sherry) Leslie and his four grandchildren; Mia, Cody, Ben and Ellie. He was predeceased by his parents George and Geraldine Leslie as well as his sister Joanne. His one wish when we knew his time was limited was to have one last live music show with all his family and friends. Thank you to Second Helping for making this wish come true. We would like to thank Stephens doctors, Dr. Heubert, Dr. Rovi, all the staff at the QEII Hospital and the palliative care nurse that took such great care of him and us through this difficult time. Visitation will be held Saturday November 25 from 1-3pm and 5-7pm with prayers at 6:15 in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. A Celebration of life will be held the following day November 26 from 2-4pm at the Tangier Fire Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marine Drive Academy in support of the students breakfast program. Online condolences may be directed to www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca
