Obituary of Annie Helena Boutilier

Boutilier, Annie Helena 87 Mushaboom died Friday, November 3, 2023, with her loving family by her side in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital Sheet Harbour. Born in Popes Harbour on December 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillas (Murphy) Cooper. When Annie was 13 years old, she had to leave school and help look after her siblings after the death of her mother. Annie volunteered a lot in her community supporting the fire department, a great supporter of St. Paul’s Church, and a member of the ACW. Her home was always open to everyone. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and baking and she also helped knit the heads for the lobster traps. She was given the Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee award for her volunteerism which she was very proud of. She was a member of the dart league and she also enjoyed bowling. Survived by her children Henry “Harry” (Betty), Lillis “Sis” McInnis, Sharon (Jeff) Telford, Randy (Sherry), Ronnie (Joanne), Daley (Andrea), and Janice (Stephen) Murray, Jeff (Lorraine) and Troy (Natalie). 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and 1 sister Ruby “Pearl” Baker. Predeceased by her husband Godfrey, three grandchildren, son-in-law David McInnis, and sisters Gladys Stillman, Eva Gwalter, Mae Russell, and Lillian Crowell. Brothers Wallace, Melvin, Arthur, Raymond, Wyman, Ervin, Walter, Stanley, Sydney and Melvin in infancy.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 7th, 2-4 and 7-9, prayers at 7:30 all at DS Crowell & Sons Funeral Home 22558 Highway 7 Sheet Habour Nova Scotia. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 8th at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Mushaboom. Rev. Deborah Burleson officiating, and burial is to follow in the new cemetery. A celebration of life will be held after the burial at the Mushaboom Fire Hall. Family flowers only, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church 250 Highway 224 Sheet Harbour Nova Scotia B0J 3B0.
The family would like to thank Dr. MacDonald and the nurses and staff at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital for their great care and compassion shown to Annie and her family. Also, a very special thank you to Sheila Edwards for always being there and helping our Mother for many years. A thank you to the staff at Northwood Care for their home visits and to DS Crowell & Sons Funeral Home for their compassion and professional and personal service shown to the family. who we are:
My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
