RUSSELL JOSEPH MURPHY
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Russell Joseph Murphy of Dartmouth, NS on October 18, 2023 at age 90. Father to Barry, Brenda and Peter (Tracy). He was nephew to Reginald Murphy and grandson of Sarah. He is survived by grandchildren MacKenzie, William and Daryl Murphy.. He is remembered by his close neighbours Isabel Rutledge and Hazel Albert. He is survived by in-laws Graham (Ethel) Butler, Linda Butler, Gloria Fahie, Don Gentles, and Verna Butler. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Joyce (Butler) and her parents Rubin and Rita Butler, in-laws James (Nita) Butler, Guy Butler, Vernon (Elsie) Walters, Lawson Butler, Eva Gentles and Frank Fahie. Russell enjoyed watching the Blue Jays, Sidney Crosby, and travelling. Russell and Shirley would visit family and friends in many provinces. Visitation will be held today October 21, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home 217 Portland Street Dartmouth N.S.. Cremation to follow. Funeral service will be held Tuesday October 24 at 10a.m. in St. Peters Anglican Church, Murphy Cove, Rev. Debra Burleson officiating, burial to follow.
