To all the Currie family, my prayers for all of you at this time. Doug always had a welcoming smile and was happy when people came to visit. He would have a cup of tea and a plate of sweets on hand for you and would delight in hearing what one had been doing. He loved his community and knew it very well. I shall miss him and all the fun-filled times we had on many a hunting and fishing trip.

Currie families:
I was so sorry to learn of Doug’s passing. He was such a kind and caring man, especially to the elderly. I remember when Harry and I were first married we lived in the house where Guy and Thelma Synder eventually moved too. At least twice a week, these two little blond haired boys Doug and Gerald would walk up to our house and pretend to help Harry cut wood, however they always made their way into the kitchen as I had just finished baking cookies, they never left disappointed. My condolences to you all in your loss.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this sad and difficult time in your lives.

Doug’s family:
I was so saddened to learn of Doug’s passing. I have so many memories of Doug, rides in his famous Gremlin car, playing poker, telling jokes and having many conversations over the years. He was a very kind man, who had a deep love for his parents and family.
My condolences to you all, keep your fond and happier memories close to your hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this sad and difficult time in your lives. Unfortunately I’m away in Nunavut working and unable to attend the celebration of life for Doug.
Kind Thoughts

To the Currie family, especially Archbishop Currie, I express deepest sympathy on behalf of the Sisters of Mercy of Newfoundland. We pray that Douglas will now enjoy eternal peace in the presence of God and of all the saints, especially those of his own family who have gone before him. We pray that each of his family members and friends will find consolation in the love and care that you share for one another.
We are grateful that your family shared your brother Martin in his ministry with us here in Newfoundland and in Peru. May you each be blessed in these days of loss and sadness.

Absolute shock, on hearing the passing of Dougie yesterday. He was a very caring and gentle man. He remembered who you were even if he didn’t. Once I told him who I was, he never forgot. We had wonderful conversations over the past years. I will miss sending his Christmas card this year!
Our condolences, prayers and love to all the Currie family, at this difficult time. May there be comfort in his memories and May he Rest In Peace.
