Obituary of Carolyn Mildred Josey

Josey, Carolyn Mildred- 73, Spry Harbour died Wednesday August 30, 2023 with her son and daughter in law by her side in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. Born in Sheet Harbour January 25, 1950 she was a daughter of the late Lawrence & Doris (Burgoyne) Russell. Carolyn was a master hairstylist and she was employed as a school bus driver with Stock Transportation for 17 years. She loved to bake, go camping, cards, bingo, old country music and going to dances when she was younger. She would take care of numerous family members when they were sick. Carolyn would play ball hockey with her grandson Tyler on a daily basis when he was younger, even though her health wasn’t good she found a way to get to Kayla’s play. Her four grandchildren were always impressed with their grandmothers remedies for everything. Survived by her son David (Lisa Burns), Spry Harbour, brother Arnold (Elizabeth) Russell, Lochaber Mines, sister Jean (Harry) Broad, Wallaceburg Ont., grandchildren; Zackery Janes, Tyler Josey, Kayla Janes and Benjamin Russell, 1 great grandchild Briar Janes. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald, son Michael in infancy and brother Carl (Laura). A Celebration of Life will be held Monday October 30 from 1-2:30p.m at The Slippery Oyster Restaurant 22715 Highway 7 Sheet Harbour. Burial to follow at St. Andrews Anglican Cemetery, Spry Harbour. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
