Publicover, Kenneth Phillip- Age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May, 23, 2023, surrounded by family at his camp, affectionately referred to as his little piece of paradise. Kenny was born September 12, 1946, in East Quoddy NS, to the late Lloyal and Mary Publicover of East Quoddy. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bonnie (MacKinnon). Children: Trevor (Cathy), Troy (Tammy) Tara (Dana). Grandchildren, Jenna, Grayce, Kaylee, Giles, Gavin, Mason. Sister, Barbara Taylor and sister-in-law, Ann Publicover, brother in law Jack (Anita), as well many nieces and nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents , brother, George , brother-in-law, Robert Taylor and Murdock and Edith (Spears) MacKinnon. Kenny was an electrician by trade, spending most of his career dedicated to ‘Pub’s Electric’ and then retired from a 20 years service to Nova Scotia Power. After retirement Kenny was always eager to help anyone who needed an electrical job done. Throughout his life he dedicated many years to servicing the community of Sheet Harbour, and Area, that he loved. A few contributions he and his family are proud of; Cub/Scout leader; sat on the Halifax County Housing Authority board; Active member of the Lions Club (served a term as King Lion); Volunteered for the local Ground Search and Rescue team (served a term as President and Search Man ager); member of the Blue Water Committee; Volunteer Fireman (served a term as the Fire Dept. Chief); In volved in the Youth Alternative Society; Board member at Harbour View Lodge; Long standing member of Session at St. James United Church; Chairman of Committee of Stewards; member of the Board of Trade. Kenny had a great love for his family, and his grandchildren. He spent his time camping and hunting and fishing with family and many friends. His first grandchild adoringly named him ‘B’ and that is how most knew him. Through his love and big heart he made many family friends and their children feel like they were always part of the family. He will be greatly missed! Visitation (and arrangements) will be held at D.S. Crowell’s Funeral Home in Sheet Harbour Friday, May 26th, 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., with Prayers at 7:30. Service will be held Saturday, May 27th, at 11 a.m., at St James United Church with Rev. Glenn MacLean officiating. A reception will follow at the East River Lodge, 200 Pool Road, Sheet Harbour. A special thank you to Tanya, Sam and Lawtons Sheet Harbour Staff: Home Care Nurses: Terri and Nicole; Palliative Care Nurse Lynn, Dr. Don Macdonald, Dr. Blackman and Dr. Kelly.
