Jennings, Mark Elmer- 84, Popes Harbour, It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of Mark Elmer Jennings on November 2, 2022 with his family by his side. Born November 28, 1937 he was a son of the late Basil & Gertrude (Fahie) Jennings. As a very young teenager he began working on fishing boats and later driving and doing mechanic work until he owned his own trucks, which he continued to drive until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially duck hunting, bowling, going dancing with his wife, going in the side by side and watching his favourite NASCAR driver Martin Truex. Mark is survived by his wife of 61 years Marilyn (Hilchey) Jennings, sons; Stephen, Jeff (Sherry), daughter Kelly (Shawn), grandchildren; Josh, Ashton, Jamie, Jacob, Carli, Brooke, Brittney, Dawson and Carmen, great grandchildren; Dawson, Adriana, Jack, Ellie, siblings; Avis Myers, Alice Muise, Merlyn and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son Wayne, brothers Ellis and Max, sisters Geraldine, Marsha, Edna, Faye and Mary. Visitation will be held Sunday November 6 from 7-9p.m. prayers at 7:30 in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. A funeral service will be held Monday November 7 at 2p.m. in St. Andrews Anglican Church, Spry Harbour Rev. Andrew Cooke officiating, reception to follow in the Tangier Fire Hall. Donations in Marks memory may be made to St. Andrews Church, Spry Harbour. Online condolences may be directed to www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
