Obituary of Isabel Bessie Chisholm

Chisholm, Isabel Bessie- 93, Sheet Harbour, passed away peacefully Thursday October 27, 2022 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Halifax August 22, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Patrick & Jessie (Monk) Walsh. Isabel raised her children before then going to work at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department, where she retired after 15 years. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, bingo, was a great cook and was a very active member of her community. Isabel was a member of the C.W.L for 72 years. Survived by children; Bonnie Chisholm (Mike Boutilier), Upper Stewiacke, Sandy (Stephanie) Chisholm, East Mountain, grandchildren; Sonya Ann Chisholm (Tom Hare), Belmont Mountain, Laura Nicole Chisholm (Zac McKinnon), Nuttby Mountain, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John Charles, brothers; Victor, William, Morris, George, Ronald, sisters; Blanche, Elva, Kathleen, Mabel, Marie and Maude. Visitation will be held Sunday October 30 from 6-8p.m. with prayers at 7p.m. in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. Funeral service will be held Tuesday November 1 at 11a.m. in St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, Sheet Harbour Fr. Michael Walsh officiating, burial in the church cemetery. A reception will follow at the Sheet Harbour Legion. Donations in Isabel’s memory may me made to the St. Peters Church Cemetery Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
