Obituary of Grant Charles Wilson Boutilier

Grant Charles Wilson Boutilier-68, Mushaboom, passed away September 23, 2022 at Harborview Lodge Sheet Harbour. Born February 3, 1954 in Mushaboom, he was the son of the late Harvey and Alice(Henley) Boutilier. Grant fished along side his father for several years before starting in construction with Casavechia’s Construction. He then decided to follow his mother’s footsteps and started working at the Moirs chocolate factory in Dartmouth right up until they closed. Grant enjoyed fishing and hunting, spending time with family and friends and having his favourite drink of rye and listening to Wednesday night‘s classic‘s on 101.9. Grant especially enjoyed spending his time with his girls, daughter Shelly, and granddaughter Autumn. Showing them the ropes of fishing and hunting. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his cat Tabby and his hounds Ace and Ivy. Grant is survived by his wife and best friend Faye(Prest)Boutilier, daughter Shelly(Jeff) Hartigan, granddaughter Autumn Boutilier, Brother Garnet(Darlene)Boutilier, sister Bonnie MacKenzie, as well as many nieces and nephews. Grant was predeceased by sisters Kaye Kirker, and Donna and Wanda in infancy. A graveside committal will be held Friday October 7 at 2p.m. in St. Paul's Anglican Church Cemetery, Mushaboom, Rev. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
