Malay, Charles John (Chuck) -52, Lake Echo passed away unexpectedly August 17, 2022 at home. Born in Halifax March 24, 1970 he was the son of Mary Ann Malay.
Known as Chuck to his family and friends. He grew up in Malay Falls NS, in the community he loved. He was a son to many and a brother to his cousin Valerie. He loved his mom, sister, aunts, uncles and many cousins. Chuck was a free spirit; he lived his life his way by his own rules. Always there with a helping hand to help anyone in need. He was a prankster who loved tormenting his friends and loved ones. It brought him joy seeing others happy. He adored his Daughter Hannah who was his everything. He cherished every moment he spent with her. He also looked forward to spending time with his niece Alyssa and nephews Travis, Kyle, William, Blake and his sister Chrystal. Chuck enjoyed hanging out with his extended lake Echo community family. Four wheeling, fishing, or just watching the wildlife from the comfort of his home that he worked hard for and loved. He looked forward to hosting family get-togethers at his home. Family meant everything to Chuck. He came from humble beginnings and never forgot where he came from. He was proud of the house he built in Lake Echo on Martins lake. Over the years chuck worked for Parker Kaefer, Donalco and MacKinnon And Olding Ltd as a foreman. He was a hard working man for many years and loved his job and work family.He is survived by his mom Mary Anne Malay, daughter Hannah Malay, estranged wife Angela Malay (Brown). His sister Chrystal, niece Alyssa,nephews William, Blake, Travis Kyle ( Maya) great nephews Malakai, Dominique. He was predeceased by his grandparents Colin Malay Sr and Marion Malay (Purcell) uncles Calvin, George,Manson,aunt Georgie. He will be missed by many, especially his extended lake echo family. Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial will be held Sunday August 28 at 11a.m. in St.James United Church Cemetery, Lochaber Mines Rev Karen Fillmore officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St.James United Church Lochaber Mines Cemetery Fund.
Rest easy Chuck, till we meet again on the other side of the stars.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
