Obituary of Teresa Margaret Murphy

Teresa Margaret Murphy (Embree) 91, Sheet Harbour passed peacefully away at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on July 7, 2022. Born on July 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Teresa Embree (Ingram). Teresa volunteered outside the home at the Sheet Harbour adult day clinic for many years, worked as an elections officer, canvassed for both federal and provincial elections up into her 80’s. She quilted over 150 baby blankets and numerous others, knitted hundreds of dish cloths, socks and hats. She was on the bowling team for many years, loved doing crosswords, lexicon, bingo, card games and she LOVED to shop! She loved animals, especially her companion, “Paddy Cat” and her garden humming birds. Teresa was a prankster and loved to “giggle!” She is survived by her children Bobbie, Bedford, Danny (Karen) Malay Falls, Beth (Eric) Sober Island, Teresa, Dartmouth, Marion (Archie) Lake Echo, Debbie (Wayne) Stewiacke, Kathy (Leonard) Sheet Harbour, Cyril (Barb) Boyle, Alberta, Michael (Roseanna) Porters Lake, Patricia (Craig), Dartmouth, Colleen (Matt) Sheet Harbour, Lisa (Dartmouth), Raymond (Michelle) Lawrencetown, special family friend Marilyn Snow, and personal long-time friend Rita Watt. Teresa was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother (GG). Predeceased by her husband Cyril, son David and sister Helen Williams. Visitation and prayers at D.S. Crowell and Son Funeral Home, 22558 Main Street, Sheet Harbour, on Wednesday July 13, 2022, 7-9 pm. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday July 14, 2022, at 11am at St. Peters Catholic Church, Sheet Harbour with Reverend Vincent Onyekelu officiating along with Archbishop Emeritus Martin Currie.
