Obituary of Rita May MacDonald
MacDonald, Rita May- 87 Harrigan Cove, passed away Wednesday July 18, 2018 in Harbourview Lodge, Sheet Harbour. Born May 5, 1931 in Harrigan Cove she was a daughter of the late Norman and Carrie (MacDonald) Gammon. Rita was a faithful member & volunteer of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Harrigan Cove. She enjoyed playing 45’s, baking and cooking, but most of her life was volunteering. Survived by children, William (Annette), Harrigan Cove, Sheila (Arthur) Richardson, Mitchell Bay, grandchildren; Angela, Jennifer (Jeff), Joanne (Shawn), Janet (Jason), Billy (Tanisha), great-grandchildren; Khloey, Kasey, Colby, Eliza, Ben, Jaxon, brothers Joe (Linda) and Jim (Janice). Predeceased by husband Raymond, daughter Ruby, son Bob, half brother Arthur MacDonald, brothers Clarence “Bob”, Joseph in infancy, sister Audrey and one child in infancy. Visitation will be held Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 with prayers at 3:00 all in Ecum Secum Chapel. Funeral service will be held Monday July 23 at 11:00a.m. in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Harrigan Cove Rev. Gary Barr officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Reception to follow in the Moser River Community Hall. Family flowers only. Donations in Rita’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. The family would like to thank the staff of Harbourview Lodge for the care and compassion they showed Rita and her family

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
