Obituary of Murray Kenneth Naugler

Oldest resident of Moser River dies at 101 Naugler, Murray Kenneth “Kennie”- Beloved husband, father and grandfather died peacefully Monday April 18, 2022 in Harbourview Lodge, Sheet Harbour at the age of 101. Born June 29, 1920 in Moser River, he was a son of the late Murray & Agnes (Bezanson) Naugler. Kennie worked in forestry most of his life, retiring from the Nova Scotia Department of Lands & Forests in 1984. He loved to work in his gardens and cut firewood for his home. Kennie enjoyed fly-fishing for salmon and trout as well as hunting. Above all Kennie will be remembered for his deep and abiding faith in God and for his unwavering love for his family and friends. Survived by his wife of 74 years Joyce (Turner), children: Sharon (Pierre), Gauthier, Uxbridge Ont., June Senay, Dartmouth, Carl (Debbie), Moser River, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, sisters Ruby Keizer, Julie (Irvin) Wells, Alma Schaffenburg, brother Herbert, brother-in-law Martin MacMillan, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Murray, sisters Nina (Bill) Smith, Hannah (Leonard) Mills and Alice MacMillan. He was loved, admired and respected by all the family, friends and everyone who knew him. Visitation will be held Saturday April 23 from 2-4p.m in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour, the family is requesting that masks be worn. Funeral service will be held Sunday April 24 at 2:30pm in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Moser River. The family would like to thank the medical staff at the various hospitals where he was treated, the home care workers who looked after him, Dr. MacDonald and the kind and caring staff at Harbourview Lodge.
