Obituary of Gordon James Boutilier
Please share a memory of Gordon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our
beloved husband, father and grandfather, Gordon (Gordie)
James Boutilier of Mushaboom, on April 17,2022. Born March 3,
1950, he was the son of the late Howard and Frances Bouitilier.
Survived by loving wife Catherine Boutilier, Daughters; Jennifer Lowe (Chris),
Andrea Boutilier (Stuart), Grandsons, Isaac and Hayden Lowe, step-grandchildren, Matthew and Casey Petrie. Brother Doug Boutilier (Corinne), sisters; Margaret
Andrews, Katherine (Bub) Woodworth, Dorothy (Harvey) McGarth. He was predeceased by half-brother Jimmy Logan and brother in law John Andrews. Gordie worked construction for much of his life making many friends along the way. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, who was always there for our every
need, but his passion for being a grandfather was what he was most proud of. Always making time for his grandsons (the lights of his life) and never telling them “no”. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, and
trips to the camp with the boys. He also enjoyed hanging out in his garage listening to Saturday night classics with his son-in-law Chris and enjoying visits from friends, family and his cat Jake. Although Gordie battled many illnesses, his courage never wavered. His strength and love will forever live on in his children and grandchildren. We would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to his brothers in law; Ronnie Boutilier, Michael Hubley and family friend Glenn Boutilier for helping Gordie make it to many appointments in the city over the years. We also want to extend appreciation to Doctor Donald
MacDonald for the exceptional care he provided Gordie over the years. We would also like to thank the staff at the Dartmouth General ICU for their compassion and care this past week. Funeral service will be held April 25, 2022 at 2pm, St.
Paul’s Anglican Church Mushaboom. We are requesting masks be worn at the service.
There will be no burial or reception at this time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or St. Paul's Anglican Church.
