Barkhouse, Robert Edmond William “Bob”, 74, Harrigan Cove, died suddenly Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at home. Born in Harrigan Cove October 11th, 1947 he was a son of the late Allen and Olive (MacDonald) Barkhouse. Bob was proud of his Aboriginal heritage and worked hard to get his children their treaty rights. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, his Cadillacs and nature. He loved watching and feeding the birds and squirrels in his yard. Bob greatly loved and missed his dog Sheba. He worked construction as well as many years on the oil rigs and also worked at Cherubini Metal Works Limited. He was very proud of his work on the Confederation Bridge. Survived by children, Craig MacDonald, Roberta (Bobby) Barkhouse, April Barkhouse, and Wanda Lea Barkhouse (Jordan), 11 grandchildren, 3 great grand children, brothers; his twin Stephen (Rose) and Manley, and sister Peggy (Grant) Gillis. Bob was predeceased by sisters Rosemary Morrison and Ruby Karen in infancy, and stepfather Fulton Jewers. Cremation has taken place and a burial will be held at a later date. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
