Obituary of Beatrice Mary Stimson
Please share a memory of Beatrice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Stimson (nee Chester), Beatrice Mary, 97- It is with love and joyful reflection that we announce Beatrice’s peaceful passing into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Thursday June 3, 2021 at High-Crest Nursing Home, Sherbrooke, NS. Born in Halifax on October 17 1923 she was the only child of the late Roy & Gladys (MacDonald) Chester.
Bea was a stenographer for most of her working life. She was an accomplished singer, a masterful baker and cake decorator, an excellent hostess and a fine cook. She loved the family pet dog, Eddie, tending to flowers eating lobsters, and travelling (especially when those travels included a cruise). She tremendously loved shopping as she was quite the fashionista; shopping was her therapy! She got up every morning, washed, dressed, did her hair and put on her makeup, she was impeccable- a real beauty.
Bea served as a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. Later in life she joined The Salvation Army and was a faithful member until her death. She enjoyed Women's Ministries.
She leaves to mourn her two step daughters Roberta Stimson, Isle of Wight, England, Wendi Stimson (Barry Martin), Sackville, NB, her lifelong childhood friend Ardith Powell, Sidney BC, her treasured niece Mary Beth Zelt (John), St. Mary’s, Pa USA and her loyal friends, caregivers and travel companions Bob and Aggie MacDonald, Lower Sackville and a large circle of friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Frederick Thacker Stimson. Beatrice will be lovingly remembered by all those who knew her, from Halifax, Lunenburg, Ottawa, Westville and Sherbrooke; because it is safe to say she was a wonderful, sweet, gentle lady with a heart of gold. “To know her, was to love her”! We thank the staff at High-Crest for their kindness to this special lady. As per Bea’s request, cremation has already taken place and internment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers Bea has asked that donations be made to The Salvation Army, Westville NS Corps, or that you do an act of kindness for someone who may be alone. Rest easy sweet soul, until we meet again! You are forever loved. Online condolences may be directed to www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca
