Obituary of Roderick Duncan Currie
Please share a memory of Roderick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Age 68, passed away surrounded by love and family on September 22, 2020. Roddie was the youngest of a very large family, and his family was something he cherished deeply. Rod was born on August 6, 1952 in Marinette and was a son of the late John (Neil) Cornelius and Viola Mae (Cruickshank) Currie. Roddie was an avid welder, fisherman, and someone who could always be found walking. In his later years, Rod enjoyed reading Western novels, hunting magazines, and spending time with the love of his life and partner, Sandra, and fur baby, Suzie. He will also be remembered for his kind nature, and his ability to strike up a conversation about anything. Rod will be deeply missed by his children, Tracy (Steven), Eddie, Nancy and April; grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Alexandria; stepchildren, Randy and Shane McAllister; four surviving siblings, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside Celebration of Life and Committal Service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, at 2 p.m., in St. Peters Roman Catholic Cemetery, Sheet Harbour, Father Vincent officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Roddie's name to the Terry Fox Foundation. Online condolences may be directed to: www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca
