Spidell, Darren Murray- 54, Malay Falls, passed away suddenly Saturday, July 18, 2020 as the result of an ATV accident. Born January 11, 1966 in Middleton he was a son of the late William and Helen (MacDonald) Spidell. Darren was employed at Dexters’ Construction for 10 years and then as a rock truck driver for Atlantic Gold for 3 years. Darren has lived in Sheet Harbour for the last five years and quickly made it his home and it didn’t take people very long to realize what an amazing person he was and how big his heart was. He took on all of the grandchildren as if they were his own. He opened up Bonita’s heart to love again and their life together was so full of happiness and everyone could see that. Together they lived life to the fullest. Darren was big in the community helping people whenever he could, a handyman, a jack of all trades, no job was too small. He enjoyed dancing and just enjoyed life. Survived by his wife, Bonita MacCarthy; sisters, Audrey (Dean) McLaughlin, Alberta, Wenda (Erick) McLaughlin, Margaretsville, Bernadette Knapp, Middleton, Shawna (Kevin) LeBlanc, BC; brothers, Carl Spidell and Chris Spidell both of Margaretsville; step children, Natasha (Ricky) Sharpe, Moser River, Joey (Courtney), Blake (Jerrilyn) and Tara (Matt) Muir all of Malay Falls; 11 worshiped step grandchildren- Cole, Kailey,Carly,Emma, Ryleigh, Bailey, Lucas, Brantley, Bria, Gunner and Joe; many nieces , nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brother Vincent. Visitation today 2-4 and 6-9 in D.S. Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. Cremation to follow . Burial at a later date. Donations in Darren’s memory may be made to Hope for Wildlife. Due to Covid Restrictions, during visitation 20 people in the Funeral Home for 15 minutes at one time. Wearing of face mask is required.
