Obituary of Joan Eileen Hubley
Hubley, Joan Eileen- 83, Mushaboom, passed away suddenly Sunday November 24, 2019 in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital, Middle Musquodoboit. Born in Halifax September 23, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Herman & Olive (LeHuquet) Munroe. Joan worked at the nursing home for several years but was a homemaker most of her life. She loved to bake, watch TV especially Family Feud, Murder She Wrote, Matlock and any action movies, and she really had a thing for Chuck Norris. She absolutely loved Christmas, especially her Christmas Tree. Joan also loved being surrounded by her family. Survived by children; Melvin (Betty), Susan Hutt, Veronica (Robert) Bennett, David (Joni), grandson Matthew (Vanessa) Hutt, great-granddaughter Kinsley, sisters; Nancy Boutilier (Gerry), Linda (Robie) Boutilier, Rose (Wade) Weeks, brother Richard (Frances). Predeceased by husband Eugene, sisters; Dorothy, Mildred MacDonald, Jean Clyburn, brothers; Stanley, Clarence, Russell and Freddie in infancy. No visitation by request. Funeral Service will be held Friday November 29 at 2:00p.m. in St. Pauls Anglican Church, Mushaboom Rev. Lorraine Otto officiating. Burial in the new cemetery. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
