I have so many fond memories of Jessie but perhaps my favourite are those that involve Christmas carolling. My dear friend, Noelle Smiley, and I would always save the Miller home for last because we knew our customary two songs would not be tolerated and we would be instructed to take off our winter gear, stand directly in the centre of the living room and sing at least 4 songs. Christmas in Killarney was always the last song sung and Jessie and Keith would always join in. A hot drink and some kind of snack afterward were also insisted upon and no protest was accepted. They were the very best kind of people and will be sorely missed.

My sympathy to all of Jessie's family. I was introduced to Jessie through my work with Seniors programs of Health Canada. She was a force of energy and combined with Dottie Jewers they worked hard to improve the quality of life for seniors in the area. Jessie was a welcoming host and taught me to strain the turkey broth so not to miss any tiny bones. Twenty +plus years later I think of her everytime I make a pot of soup. Great memories. Thanks be to God for the gift of Jessie Miller and all the lives she touched.
