Obituary of Wayne Stanley Fleet
Age 76, East Quoddy, passed away suddenly at his camp in Moser River Saturday, August 31, 2019. Born November 13, 1942 in Ecum Secum, he was a son of the late George and Beatrice (Smith) Fleet. Wayne joined the Forces with the army and then the navy, retiring in 1982. He was a 50-year member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 58, Sheet Harbour where he was the second Vice President and bar manager. He enjoyed hunting, especially in River John with his buddy Corey Bergman, fishing, travelling with family and friends and playing crib. Survived by wife, Jean Josey; daughters, Amanda (Jeffery) Hiltz, Nova (Mark) Pye; son, Michael Josey (Bill Behrens); grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Jessica and Jordan; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Wilda (Steve); brother, Ralph (Carol); many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Bob Fleet, Frank Smith and Leonard Fleet. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 8th from 2-3 p.m. with a Legion Service at 2:30 p.m. in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Hwy. 7, Sheet Harbour. Everyone is welcome back in the Legion for a Celebration of his Life. Family flowers only. Donations in Wayne's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
