Obituary of Emma Marie Parks
Parks, Emma Marie- 86, Sheet Harbour, it is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother on Sunday February 11, 2018 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Lewiston March 11, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Austin & Carrie (MacDonald) Frost. Emma was a member of St. James United Church and Eastern Star and Legion Corrsellette Branch #58 where she worked tirelessly with her husband Darby. Emma worked many years in clothing retail for various stores and retired from the Hudson Bay in Yellowknife. After Dad’s death she volunteered for the Adult Day Clinic at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital for many years, where she was known for telling stories of days gone by and never being without her stiletto shoes. Mom also loved wildlife and got great pleasure watching the many different varieties of birds that came to her feeders. She loved to entertain and they were known for their dinners and parties from Nova Scotia to Yellowknife. She is survived by children; Steven (Sherry), Bill (Jenny), Gary, Caroline Bond, Andrew. Sisters; Victoria Crowell, Sylvia (John) Monk, Evelyn Husbands, Darlene Frost, Sigrid DeWolfe, loyal companion Albert Josey, grandchildren; Jason, Daniel (Marlise), Nicholas (Deanna), Amberlee (Garrett), Benjamin (Dawn), Jeremy, Rick (Lisa), Geoff (Tanya), Melissa (Curtis), Andrea, Brittney, Carrie (Mike), Sara (Scott), great grandchildren; Jackson, Gwenyth, Gabrielle, Christopher, Tyler, Pennie, Micah, Cameron, Kylie, Chelsea, Makayla, Shawn, Kailey, Racquelle, Austin, Natalia, Kylee, Carsyn, Benjamin, Zachery, Kyle, Michel, Alex, Emma. Great great grandchildren; Kohen, Niall and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Guy Lionel (Darby), brothers John and Joe, sisters Shirley McKay, Bonnie Hutka, Lorraine in infancy, great granddaughter Leah, son in-law Wilfred. Visitation will take place Wednesday February 14 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9p.m. with prayers at 3:00 p.m in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home 22558 Highway 7 Sheet Harbour. Funeral will take place on Thursday February 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the little church in the wildwood, St. James United Lochaber Mines Rev. Lorraine Otto officiating. Internment in the church cemetery. Reception to follow in the Royal Canadian Legion, Watt Section. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. James United Church Lochaber Mines C/O Frances Malay 522 East River Road Sheet Harbour N.S B0J 3B0. Sincere thanks to the homecare team and the medical staff at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, you not only took care of Mom, but it was obvious you cared for her.

who we are:
My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
